Quality Control Inspector

Our client are an engineering manufacturer in the North East is looking to appoint an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their growing team.
This is a hands-on role within a busy fabrication and manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and industry compliance requirements.
You will play a key part in maintaining quality standards across the production lifecycle, working closely with shopfloor teams, management, suppliers and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
*Conduct and record inspections on incoming materials, in-process work and final products
*Perform internal QMS and product-specific audits
*Coordinate inspections with customers and third-party inspectors
*Review and issue work instructions to meet contract and internal standards
*Raise and manage NCRs, concessions and material certification documentation
*Lead and support Root Cause Analysis investigations into quality issues and warranty claims
*Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
*Maintain and monitor the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 environment)
*Manage the calibration system, including internal and external calibration coordination
*Compile quality data dossiers and support KPI reporting
*Liaise directly with suppliers and customer representatives on quality matters
*Promote safe working practices and challenge unsafe behaviours
Essential:
*Experience within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment
*Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation
*Experience managing NCRs, inspections, and quality documentation
*Knowledge of ISO 9001 and industry standards such as ASME
*Confident communicator able to liaise with customers and suppliers
*Strong planning and organisational skills
Desirable:
*CSWIP 3.1 (CSWIP 3.0 considered)
*PCN Level II (MPI & DPI) or equivalent NDT certification
*Engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification
