Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Engineer to support our tendering and sales activities within a technical engineering environment.
The role involves coordinating and assessing RFQs, reviewing technical and supplier quotations for compliance, managing customer communications, and working collaboratively across internal departments to deliver accurate and timely quotations.
Roles & Responsibilities
*Coordinate with engineering teams to review design submissions and ensure compliance with tender specifications.
*Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with project requirements and commercial objectives.
*Prepare and issue accurate, competitive quotations to customers.
*Manage and prioritise a high-volume tendering inbox and sales opportunities within internal systems.
*Act as a key point of contact for customers, responding to technical and commercial queries professionally and efficiently.
*Review and assess customer RFQs in a timely manner, ensuring full understanding of technical and commercial requirements.
*Liaise closely with internal departments including engineering, production, contracts and accounts to ensure seamless project handover and delivery.
*Support Regional Sales Managers and senior sales leadership with technical input and quotation preparation.
*Monitor and chase outstanding technical information and supplier responses to meet deadlines.
*Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with company processes.
Skills & Experience
*Experience within an electrical power, engineering, or technical manufacturing environment (preferred).
*Electrical engineering background or technical qualification (desirable).
*Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical accuracy and competitiveness.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
*Proficient IT skills and experience using CRM or opportunity management systems.
*Collaborative team player with a proactive and forward-thinking mindset.
