Psychology Graduate - Education & SEN Support (Whitehaven) Are you a Psychology Graduate looking to apply your degree in a real-world educational setting?
We are seeking motivated and analytical Psychology Graduates for specialized support roles within secondary schools in Whitehaven. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable, frontline experience working with students who have diverse emotional, social, and mental health needs (SEMH) or Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Pay & Working Patterns * Daily Rate:£95 - £110 per day (Competitive rate for graduates).

* Flexibility:Full-Time (Monday-Friday) and Part-Time options available. Perfect for those balancing further Master’s or PhD applications.

The Role at a Glance As a Psychology Graduate in a school setting, you will use your understanding of human behavior to bridge the gap for students facing barriers to learning.
* Behavioral Support: Apply behavioral theory to support students with SEMH needs, helping to implement positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies.

* SEN Specialism: Work 1-to-1 with students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, or other learning difficulties, adapting communication to their specific needs.

* Mental Health Mentoring: Act as a supportive point of contact for students struggling with anxiety or social integration, providing a calm and empathetic presence.

* Data & Progress: Assist the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) in tracking student progress and documenting behavioral observations for EHCP reviews.

* Intervention Leading: Facilitate small group sessions focused on social skills, emotional regulation, and resilience.

What You Need to Succeed * Education: A recently completed degree (or final year) in Psychology or a related Social Science.

* Aspiration: A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Teaching.

* Attributes: High levels of emotional intelligence, patience, and the ability to remain objective in challenging situations.

* Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively liaise with teachers and school leadership.

* Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we can assist with a new application if required).
