Job Description:
Remote Clinical Negligence Solicitor
A respected law firm with a strong national reputation in clinical negligence is looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor to its expanding team. This is a superb opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Solicitor seeking high-quality work within a collaborative, progressive and flexible environment.
The Opportunity
This role offers a genuinely hybrid working model, requiring attendance at the Leeds office just two days per month. You will benefit from primarily home-based working while maintaining valuable in-person collaboration at the firm’s modern Leeds premises.
The firm has built a reputation for promoting work-life balance and fostering a supportive, inclusive culture where wellbeing and professional growth are prioritised.
You will join a specialist clinical negligence team recognised for its expertise and holding accreditations with APIL, AvMA and the Law Society. As a Senior Solicitor, you will take ownership of a complex and rewarding caseload, delivering clear, compassionate advice to clients while working closely with medical experts, counsel and other stakeholders to secure the best possible outcomes.
In addition to managing your own matters, you will play a key leadership role within the team – mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to strategic decisions and helping to drive strong client service and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
*Independently manage a complex caseload of clinical negligence claims
*Progress cases proactively with a commercial and strategic mindset
*Develop strong working relationships with clients, counsel and medical professionals
*Draft key legal documentation, including Letters of Claim and expert instructions
*Conduct settlement negotiations and manage court proceedings where required
*Support the Team Leader in achieving departmental objectives
*Supervise, guide and mentor junior team members
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records
About You
*At least 3 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in clinical negligence
*Recent experience handling a varied and technically complex caseload
*Excellent drafting and communication skills
*Strong organisational and time management abilities
*Commercial awareness and a strategic approach to litigation
*A collaborative and team-oriented outlook
*Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
*Confident IT skills, including case management systems and Microsoft Office
What’s on Offer?
*35-hour working week
*Performance-related bonus scheme
*35 days’ annual leave (including bank holidays and Christmas closure), with the option to purchase additional days
*Long-service holiday enhancements (up to three extra days)
*Pension scheme with salary sacrifice options
*Life assurance
*Medicash plan covering medical, dental and optical expenses
*Enhanced parental leave and IVF support
