Electrical Calibration Operator

£21.12 rising to £22.12 PAYE (£28.35 rising to £29.70 Umbrella)
Role Purpose
As a valued member of the Manufacturing function, the Electrical Calibration Operator is responsible for the routine calibration, maintenance, and repair of both Special To Type Test Equipment (STTE) and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) equipment. This role ensures all test and measurement instruments are compliant with proprietary procedures and company standards to maintain operational traceability.
Key Responsibilities
*Perform initial and routine calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electrical test and measurement equipment (e.g., Power Supplies, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and Function Generators).
*Carry out in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation within the factory environment.
*Ensure factory-specific and proprietary measuring equipment is maintained strictly in accordance with current departmental processes and manufacturer’s instructions.
*Generate clear, accurate, and comprehensive calibration and maintenance records to ensure full audit traceability.
*Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-level support to the wider Operations and Manufacturing functions.
Technical Skills & Experience
*Proven experience calibrating COTS and Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE).
*Hands-on experience with standard electrical test tools (DMMs, Scopes, Signal Generators, etc.).
*Highly competent in following complex technical instructions and generating detailed maintenance logs.
*A good understanding of SAP for equipment tracking and record management is highly desirable.
*Experience working within Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) facilities is an advantage.
Qualifications
Apprenticeship: Time-served Modern Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3.
City & Guilds Part 2 & 3, ONC, or HNC in Electronics.
Personal Attributes
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
Excellent written communication for record-keeping purposes.
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
