up to £70k + £6k car allowance
Our client is a fast growing manufacturing business, looking for an experienced HR Manager with a background in manufacturing or engineering, and ideally with some union experience.
As HR Manager, you will be responsible for developing, leading and motivating the HR Team (HR,Payroll, Talent Acquisition and Training), with overall HR and Training strategy accountability.
What you’ll be doing:
*Provide professional leadership, support and development to the HR team.
*Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement and motivation of employees.
*Serve as the point of contact for employment relations and communicate with the signatory Union.
*Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
*Develop corporate plans for compensation and benefits, health and wellbeing.
*Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
*Manage the execution of the HR Strategy and core areas of the HR department including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Workforce Administration, Employee Engagement, Payroll, Reward and Recognition, as well as maintaining and improving HR systems and management of the HR budget.
*Drive the continuous improvement agenda with focus on engagement & welfare activities, maximising productivity, devolving HR responsibilities to line managers and building leadership capability.
*Take a lead role in transforming and strengthening the organisational culture.
*Execute a plan for diversity, equality, and inclusion that aligns with company values, business strategy and commitments.
*Regularly coach, mentor and support senior and high potential colleagues to identify individual strengths and development needs, develop and maintain effective relationships and encourage retention.
*Ensure managers are sufficiently skilled and enabled to access appropriate guidance and information to manage workforce issues.
What we need from you
*Educated to degree level in a Human Resources or related field.
*Proven working experience as a Head of HR or HR Manager in a manufacturing or heavy engineering organsiation.
*Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics.
*Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
*Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
*Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
*In-depth knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practices.
*Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills.
*Excellent organisational and time management skills.
