An established and growing professional services firm in London is seeking an experienced Client Accounts Manager to join its Accounts & Business Advisory team.
This is a senior-level opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware accountant who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing work, and supporting junior team members while delivering high-quality accounts and advisory services.
The Role
As Client Accounts Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, managing the preparation and finalisation of statutory accounts while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines.
You will review the work of junior team members, provide guidance and coaching, and act as a key point of contact for clients. The role combines strong technical delivery with commercial awareness and client relationship management.
You will:
*Manage the preparation and review of statutory accounts
*Finalise accounts and review prepared tax computations
*Set and monitor budgets, managing job progress and reporting variances
*Communicate overruns or additional services clearly and proactively
*Handle complex accounting matters and escalate technical issues where required
*Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and service delivery
*Coach and develop junior team members
*Monitor budgets against job progress and take corrective action where required
*Manage workflow to meet client needs and business deadlines
*Identify opportunities to add value and strengthen client relationships
*Confidently manage challenging client feedback
*Deliver work thoroughly and to a consistently high standard
*Technical Leadership
*Prepare and review medium-risk statutory accounts, including detailed notes
*Draft clear transmittal letters explaining key financial points to clients
*Apply disclosure requirements under FRS105, FRS102 (1a), FRS102 and IFRS
*Calculate and explain deferred tax to clients
*Identify benefit-in-kind and PSA considerations
*Calculate associated companies and understand group implications
*Process share buybacks and restructures
*Account for fair value revaluations (investments, investment property, etc.)
*Calculate WIP valuations and holiday pay accruals
*Interpret tax codes and identify when amendments are required
*Identify potential capital gains tax exposure
*Understand VAT treatments and confidently explain technical positions
*Apply digital tools such as Xero and Dext within client engagements
*Take responsibility for team workflow planning
*Support, guide and provide timely feedback to junior team members
*Proactively seek opportunities to develop beyond operational delivery
*Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines
About You
*ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
*Strong technical accounting knowledge across UK GAAP frameworks
*Comfortable managing a client portfolio independently
*Commercially aware and confident in client conversations
*Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
*A collaborative team player with leadership capabilities
