Job Description:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in the BL9 area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career within a busy and supportive finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts department, maintaining accurate financial records, processing a high volume of transactions, and assisting with month-end procedures. You will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure all financial information is accurate, up to date, and in line with company procedures, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the finance function.

Accounts Assistant – Key Responsibilities
*Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and on time
*Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
*Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts
*Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports
*Handle expense claims and petty cash
*Support payroll processing (if required)
*File and maintain financial documents and records
*Respond to basic finance-related queries from staff or suppliers
*Assist with audits and year-end accounts preparation
*Perform general administrative duties within the finance department
Accounts Assistant – Requirements
*Previous experience in an accounts or finance assistant role (or similar)
*Basic understanding of accounting principles
*Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Good organizational and time management skills
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Accounts Assistant – Skills
*High level of numeracy and accuracy
*Good communication skills (written and verbal)
*Ability to handle confidential information professionally
*Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
*Well-organized and able to meet deadlines
