Job Description:
Health and Safety Advisor up to 45k
South East
We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support the Health & Safety Manager and wider H&S function in maintaining a safe, compliant and progressive working environment for a chemical’s organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about health and safety in a STEM environment who is keen to develop their career and training will be provided.
As health and safety adviser you will help ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, guidance and best practice while promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
*Promote H&S best practice and encourage continual improvement, including near-miss reporting
*Support development and delivery of employee H&S training
*Assist Health & Safety committees and attend meetings
*Work with managers on risk assessments, ensuring timely completion in line with procedures
*Maintain H&S systems including accident reporting and COSHH compliance
*Support internal audits, identifying improvements to systems and procedures
*Collect, analyse and report H&S data, identifying trends and recommending actions
*Assist accident investigations under guidance of the H&S Manager
*Deliver Toolbox Talks and communicate safety information effectively
*Ensure compliance with ISO standards, HR policies, and contractual obligations
*Positively represent the company to customers and suppliers
*Contribute fully to performance and development programmes
Skills Attributes and Qualifications
*Enthusiastic about health and safety who enjoys working collaboratively and driving continuous improvement.
*Experience within manufacturing, engineering, materials or chemicals environments beneficial – STEM
*IOSH membership desirable
*NEBOSH qualification (or working towards it)
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Good Microsoft Office skills
*Ability to interpret H&S legislation and guidance
*Strong analytical and organisational skills
*Full UK driving licence
