Job Description:

Location: Nationwide (ideally based in the Midlands but on non-event days you can work remotely)

Groovebox and Live Republic are two of the UK’s fastest-growing names in the events and live entertainment scene, from high-energy nightlife shows to unforgettable day festivals across the country.
Macildowie are exclusively recruiting for an experienced Events Director/Operations Director who knows what it takes to deliver large-scale, high-impact live experiences. Someone who can bring structure, energy, and calm under pressure, and who shares our love for the atmosphere of a packed-out crowd.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for bringing our events to life …. from planning through to the final beat of the night. This is a hands-on, full-time role where you’ll take ownership of all operational planning, logistics, and delivery. The rest of 2026 is set to be huge, with plans to take Groovebox and Live Republic events across Europe and Ireland. You’ll play a key role in helping them grow internationally and continue building unforgettable experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing and coordinating all aspects of event operations: from planning and scheduling to supplier management and on-site execution.
*Overseeing health & safety, event logistics, and team coordination on event days.
*Working closely with the Directors and other Events colleagues to ensure every show runs smoothly, safely, and in true Groovebox / Live Republic style.
*Taking charge of timelines, budgets, and all the behind-the-scenes details that make the magic happen.
Hours & Flexibility
Events mean energy, organisation and sometimes late nights! You’ll need to be happy working weekends and travelling nationwide for events (around 25% in Nottingham, 75% across the UK).
When you’re not running shows, you’ll enjoy flexible working during the week (working remotely), with your main days off typically being Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
*Has proven experience managing large-scale events, festivals, or live shows.
*Has a full UK driving licence and flexibility to work weekends/late nights. Plus willingness to drive a van to some of the events
*Has a number of contacts across the industry, and knows their stuff when it comes to SAG, licensing, liaising with police and management of security companies.
*Is organised, proactive, and thrives under pressure.
*Has the personality to match the brand: creative, approachable, logical, and not too corporate.
*Is Midlands-based (desirable - not essential) and happy to travel.
*Willing to take part in the loading/unloading of vehicles (sometimes carrying heavy boxes etc.)
What’s on Offer
*Flexible weekday working (remotely on non-event days)
*Exciting travel across the UK - and Europe soon!
*Join one of the UK’s most exciting event brands in a key leadership role
*Apply to find out more!
