Financial Accountant
£300 per day (Umbrella)
Abingdon, Oxfordshire – Fully Onsite
Contract: February – May 2026 (Full-Time)
This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident across both month-end accounting and transactional finance processes.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth finance operations across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing month-end processes across UK and US entities
* Maintaining general ledgers and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Supporting monthly management accounts preparation
* Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
* Assisting with payroll processing
* Supporting credit control activities
* Ensuring accurate maintenance of Xero accounting systems
About You
* 4–5+ years’ experience in financial accounting or bookkeeping
* Strong working knowledge of accounting software (ideally Xero)
* Proven experience across month-end, AP, AR and payroll
* Advanced Excel skills
* High attention to detail and strong process adherence
* Able to work independently and proactively
* Experience within a technology or software business advantageous
* Qualified (or equivalent experience) preferred
