NEW OPPORTUNITY
Role: Public Transport Support Officer
Location: Cambridgeshire
Contract: 6 month Fixed Term Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid (on-site presence required as needed)
Salary: £26,403-£28,598
Venn Group are supporting a Local Authority within the Cambridge area with the recruitment of a Public Transport Support Officer to support strategic improvements across the bus network.
Reporting to the Public Transport Network Delivery Manager, this role will play a key part in delivering bus network enhancements, supporting planning applications, managing datasets and working closely with stakeholders to improve services across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
*Contributing to the planning and implementation of bus network improvements
*Supporting responses to planning applications, including Section 106 (S106) funding opportunities
*Assisting with the execution of S106 agreements to invest in bus services
*Collating and maintaining service, timetable and registration data
*Updating bus-related datasets to support timetabling, real-time information systems and DfT systems
*Engaging with stakeholders including local authorities, bus operators and community organisations
*Supporting wider network development and improvement initiatives
Candidate Requirements:
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in public transport planning or a related field
*Experience in bus service design, tendering and contract procurement
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply data
*Knowledge of commercial and financial management principles
*Experience supporting complex projects, funding bids or bus service improvement initiatives
*Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
*Collaborative approach to working across teams and partners
*Local Authority experience within transport planning or network delivery would be highly advantageous.
