Service Operations Manager – Fire Detection
Location: Central London
Role Overview
I’m currently supporting a leading organisation in the electronic fire and security sector that is seeking a Service Operations Manager to oversee service delivery within its growing Fire Detection division. This role focuses on ensuring client SLAs are consistently met while maintaining high operational standards across the service department.
The ideal candidate will bring strong fire systems knowledge and experience, ideally from a fire engineering background or a similar service management role in the engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities
As the Service Operations Manager, you will be accountable for:
*Leading, recruiting, developing, and line managing a team of engineers
*Coordinating effectively with contractors and suppliers
*Managing and resolving delays or issues affecting service delivery
*Hiring, onboarding, and training new staff
*Driving process improvements and service enhancements
*Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards
*Overseeing materials and equipment budgeting
*Ensuring engineering work (internal and subcontracted) meets required quality standards, including LPS compliance
*Managing and delegating technical escalations
*Participating in monthly senior management meetings
*Attending client meetings as needed
*Maintaining a safe and secure working environment for employees and customers
*Monitoring approved subcontractors and suppliers for performance and compliance
What We’re Looking For
Candidates should bring:
*Senior-level experience in service delivery within the fire and security industry
*Strong working knowledge of LPS standards
*Proven ability to recruit, manage, and develop teams
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet KPIs and SLAs
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*A track record of delivering service/process improvements
*Ability to build strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer service
