Job Description:
Sales Ledger/Credit Controller
*Job Type: Full-Time, 100% office based- 37.5 hours per week.
*Location: Outskirts of Redhill (own transport needed due to remote location)
*Salary: £30,000
We are seeking a dedicated Sales Ledger/Credit Controller to take ownership of a client portfolio and manage both the Sales Ledger and Credit Control functions. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Process pre-invoice documentation to raise invoices using our in-house system and import them to Sage.
*Issue invoices to clients via email, including necessary attachments as specified by individual clients.
*Provide accurate and timely responses to Sales Ledger queries from both external and internal sources.
*Perform daily allocation of receipts to the Sales Ledger, updating both the in-house system and Sage.
*Actively chase overdue invoices by telephone and email within agreed timescales, maintaining regular communication with clients.
*Liaise with client portfolio managers and administrators to resolve any issues preventing payment.
*Maintain accurate records of all chasing activities for each outstanding invoice.
*Monitor client payments against due amounts and follow up as necessary.
*Attend regular debt review meetings with Directors to discuss aged debt within your portfolio.
*Assist with other ad hoc duties in support of the business as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in Sales Ledger management and strong Credit Control, outside of pure collections roles or call centres.
*Ability to manage your own ledger and work to strict deadlines.
*High attention to detail with a focus on speed and accuracy.
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to quickly build professional relationships.
*Capability to work independently to achieve results and also as part of a team.
Desirable:
*Currently studying for AAT or a similar accounting qualification.
*Knowledge of Sage software.
*Ability to drive, as the location may not be easily accessible via public transport.
