Job Description:
Accountant
*Part Time - 3 days a week
*Annual Salary: To be discussed
*Location: Specific location needed (Note: Driving required as location is inaccessible via public transport)
*Job Type: Part-time
Join our team within the hospitality and leisure sector as an Accountant. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who is confident in managing day-to-day accounts and providing clear financial insights to support the business. The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing P&L, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Managing accounts using Sage software, requiring in-depth knowledge.
*Preparing, creating, and managing Profit & Loss statements.
*Overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly financial processes.
*Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
*Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and best practice across financial records.
*Working closely with the general manager & director to provide financial insight and guidance.
*One shift per week will require a 7:00am start to open the building as a duty manager.
*Other days offer flexibility with optional start times (8:00am or 9:00am).
*Setting up budgets and performing bank reconciliations.
*Applying knowledge of Tax Law to ensure compliance and optimise financial operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in an accountancy or bookkeeping role.
*Strong, hands-on experience with Sage.
*Demonstrable experience producing and managing P&Ls.
*Background or strong understanding of the hospitality & leisure industry.
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
*Reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently.
*Proficient in setting up budgets and conducting bank reconciliations.
*Solid understanding of Tax Law relevant to the hospitality and leisure sector.
