Job Description:
The Career Transition Partnership (CTP) is seeking a multi-skilled Electrical Lecturer to deliver high-quality Electrical Engineering training that blends industry competence, FE teaching expertise, and assessment capability — supporting Service Leavers as they transition into sustainable civilian employment.
As an Electrical Lecturer, you will deliver the full scope of CTP Electrical Engineering training, helping learners build the technical, practical, and professional skills required for long-term success. You will design and deliver training, maintain workshop standards, and ensure the programme evolves in line with awarding-body requirements, engineering-sector developments, and Service Leaver feedback.
If you’re ready to support the next chapter of Service Leavers’ careers — while growing your own within a values-driven, forward-thinking organisation — we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will deliver the full scope of CTP Electrical Engineering training and help shape an exceptional learning experience:
*Deliver engaging, practical Electrical Engineering training aligned with awarding-body and industry standards.
*Design schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources tailored to learner needs.
*Maintain and develop workshop facilities to ensure safe, professional training environments.
*Support the Head of Engineering with annual planning, curriculum updates and continuous improvement.
*Assist with assessments, exams and invigilation duties.
What We’re Looking For
This role requires well-rounded professional capability, combining FE teaching competence with hands-on electrician experience and assessor skills. You’ll be supported to develop all aspects of your practice.
Essential Skills & Experience:
*Relevant electrical qualifications, including Inspection & Testing and Domestic Electrical Installation.
*Experience delivering Engineering or Electrical Installation training.
*Willingness to work towards TAQA Level 3 / Assessor qualification.
*Security Clearance requirement: You must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Who Succeeds in This Role?
Candidates who excel are typically:
*Experienced electricians looking to bring their skills into a stable, mission-driven teaching environment.
*FE Lecturers or Assessors seeking a role with real community impact.
*Individuals passionate about helping Service Leavers transition confidently into civilian life.
What’s in It for You?
As part of CTP, you will directly contribute to the skills development and employability of Service Leavers — an immensely rewarding opportunity with genuine community impact.
Reed in Partnership offers a strong reward package focused on development, wellbeing, and long-term career progression, including:
*25 days annual leave (pro-rata for part-time) plus bank holidays
*Reed Pension Scheme
*Award-winning Management & Leadership training
*Professional & Personal Development Funds
*Bi-annual pay reviews
*Additional benefits listed on our website
*The chance to make a meaningful difference to the local community
