Assistant Accountant (Maternity Cover)

Resourcery are supporting a well known city centre based company with recruiting a highly organised and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on an 8-month maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious, well-established business with a strong heritage and reputation for excellence.
Working closely with senior stakeholders and supporting the wider finance function, you will play a key role in managing daily banking operations and ensuring financial accuracy across multiple accounts and currencies.
Key Responsibilities * Report daily bank balances and key receipts/payments to Directors and senior managers

* Pass details of customer receipts to Credit Control and showroom teams each day

* Enter payments into online banking platforms on a daily basis

* Raise manual journals for bank payments and receipts not automatically recorded

* Reconcile 10 bank accounts across GBP, EUR and USD

* Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences promptly

* Respond to internal queries relating to receipts and payments

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Experience managing multicurrency bank accounts

* Strong working knowledge of online banking platforms, including importing and manual payment entry

* Proven experience preparing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies

* Experience preparing manual journals

* Strong Excel skills

* Experience with Sage or another ERP system (advantageous)

* Exceptional levels of accuracy and attention to detail
