Paint Team Leader£37,440+ per year | Permanent | Days | Dudley | Manufacturing
This Paint Team Leader role is a hands-on leadership position in a busy manufacturing environment. You will manage the paint shop day-to-day, leading a small team and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standard.
Key duties and responsibilities:*Lead and supervise a team of Paint Operatives on the shop floor
*Plan and schedule daily workloads in line with production plans
*Allocate work to ensure jobs are completed on time and in full
*Monitor output against OTIFNE targets and address issues early
*Set priorities and communicate completion times using planning boards
*Maintain quality standards and address non-conformances promptly
*Carry out final sign-off of completed work leaving the department
*Ensure all production and quality paperwork is completed accurately
*Enforce health & safety procedures, PPE compliance, and housekeeping standards
*Manage attendance, timekeeping, and shop-floor discipline
*Maintain training and competency records (SQEP)
*Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
*Support training, coaching, and development of paint shop staff
*Liaise with planning, engineering, quality, and management teams
*Identify problems and implement corrective actions quickly
What we’re looking for:*Previous hands-on experience in an industrial paint shop
*Experience leading or supervising a small production team
*Strong organisational and communication skills
*Confident managing quality, safety, and delivery targets
*Experience within a manufacturing or sheet metal environment preferred
