Job PurposeTo provide high-quality care and early years education in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework. To support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Childcare & Development*Deliver outstanding care and education to children aged 0–5 years.
*Plan and implement age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.
*Support children’s emotional, social, and physical development.
*Observe, assess, and record children’s progress.
*Act as a key person for a group of children (Level 3 practitioners may take full key worker responsibility).
Planning & Learning*Support planning of engaging learning experiences.
*Contribute to children’s learning journals and developmental reports.
*Encourage independence and positive behaviour.
*Promote inclusive practice and equal opportunities.
Safeguarding & Health & Safety*Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
*Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment.
*Follow health & safety, hygiene, and risk assessment procedures.
*Administer first aid (if trained).
?? Partnership with Parents*Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
*Provide feedback on children’s progress and daily activities.
*Attend parent meetings where required.
Teamwork*Work effectively as part of a team.
*Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
*Support students, apprentices, and new staff where appropriate (Level 3).
Person SpecificationEssential (Level 2)*Level 2 qualification in Early Years / Childcare.
*Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
*Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
*Good communication and teamwork skills.
*Passion for working with children.
Essential (Level 3)*Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years.
*Experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
*Strong knowledge of EYFS and child development.
*Ability to take on key person responsibilities.
*Confident in planning and assessment.
Desirable*Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
*Safeguarding training.
*Food hygiene certificate.
Other Requirements*Enhanced DBS check.
*Right to work in the UK.
*Commitment to continuous professional development.
