The Role
We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Day Nursery Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our childcare setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated leader who is committed to delivering outstanding early years education and care.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. You will lead and inspire a dedicated team, build strong relationships with parents, and ensure full compliance with all regulatory and safeguarding requirements while maintaining the highest standards of childcare.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies
• Lead, motivate, and support nursery staff to deliver outstanding childcare and encourage continuous professional development
• Plan and implement high-quality, age-appropriate programmes that support children’s learning, development, and well-being
• Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on children’s progress
• Manage staff rotas, recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming nursery environment
• Oversee administrative duties including record-keeping, budgeting, and compliance documentation
• Promote an inclusive, positive, and supportive environment for children, families, and staff
Requirements and Skills
• Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team
• Excellent knowledge of early childhood development and best practices
• Sound understanding of childcare regulations, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, colleagues, and external professionals
• Highly organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills
• A valid driving licence is desirable
