Facilities Manager (soft services)
*Location: Sidcup or Hendon / Hybrid (flexibiltiy to work in other London locations)
*Job Type: 12 months interim - initially
*Rate: £550 per day Umbrella
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Management Professional to ensure that our estate is fit-for-purpose, demonstrates value for money, and meets all statutory and legislative requirements. This role provides crucial support to the Assistant Director of Facilities Management and involves managing our outsourced Property Integrator and the wider supply chain. The position requires estate-wide work and is central to maintaining high standards across all command units.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Act as a key contact point for Building Managers and other Facilities Managers, accountable to the Assistant Director Facilities Management.
*Monitor and manage the performance of the FM Integrator and wider supply chain to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
*Exercise retained responsibilities for the statutory compliance of the estate and its assets.
*Collaborate with the Property Integrator and Tier 2 suppliers to identify and implement process and procedural improvements.
*Challenge solutions and quotations to drive cost savings and attend governance meetings with key suppliers.
*Carry out design, development, and improvement works across the estate.
*Review complaints and service failures, managing remediation and corrective action plans.
*Work in partnership with various teams to ensure seamless delivery of estate solutions, focusing on maintainable, efficient workplace design and effective project handovers.
*Proactively manage business risks through contracted supply chain management, including incident and audit response.
*Draft and incorporate user design and maintenance requirements early in the project lifecycle.
*Ensure effective communication across all supply chains and internal units for operational property matters.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum of five years of management experience in an FM organisation or similar environment.
*More recent Soft Services FM is preferred
*Proven experience working with complex and diverse supply chains and multi-disciplinary teams.
*Experience in commercial partnerships with significant outsourced suppliers, within a robust performance regime.
*Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with operational users.
*Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including teamwork, collaboration, and issue resolution.
*Experience in agile or smarter working workplace design is advantageous.
