About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our team and provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream primary school setting. This role is vital in helping children access learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions for pupils with SEN, including those with autism, speech and language delays, and social/emotional needs.
Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual education plans (IEPs).
Support pupils with communication, sensory, and behavioural challenges using appropriate strategies.
Assist with personal care and daily routines where required.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and provide feedback.
Promote inclusion and positive behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare/Education) preferred.
