SEN Teaching Assistants – Specialist Provision (Greenwich)
Full-time | Long-term | Immediate Start
Reed Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic primary school in Greenwich seeking 2–3 experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their specialist provision. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference supporting children with complex needs in a nurturing, well-resourced setting.
The Role
You will be supporting pupils within a specialist provision for children with:
*Autism
*Severe learning difficulties
*Communication needs (few or no words)
*Sensory-seeking behaviours
*Regulation challenges
*Intimate care needs (toileting & nappies)
Classes typically have 8–10 children with high staffing ratios. One class is working at a developmental level of 9–24 months, with a curriculum based around play, early communication, sensory exploration and structured routines.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
*Using sensory-based and play-based approaches
*Assisting with communication strategies (PECS, visuals, modelling)
*Supporting emotional regulation
*Providing intimate care where needed
*Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team
*Helping create a calm, supportive and structured learning environment
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from:
Experienced SEN TAs
with backgrounds in:
*Autism (complex needs)
*Severe learning difficulties
*Non-verbal pupils
*Sensory regulation
*Personal care
OR EYFS Practitioners
who have:
*Strong early play-based experience
*A willingness to learn and engage with SEN approaches
*Experience supporting early communication and developmental milestones
