Waking Night Support Worker
Location: Cheltenham
Rate: £12.36 per hour
Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service – Bouncer Lane
Bouncers Lane is a small, friendly supported living service with a strong focus on independence, routine, and meaningful activities. Due to open in the next month, we are looking for kind, energetic and down-to-earth Support Workers to join us from the very start.
This service will support three adults with autism and epilepsy, who can at times display challenging behaviour. They are active, sociable people who love getting out and about and being part of their local community.
Service User Interests
The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:
*Swimming
*Skittles and leisure activities
*Going out shopping
*Spending time in the community
The best part. Everything is within walking distance, so this is a really hands-on, active role — not one where you’re stuck indoors all day.
Support is provided 24 hours a day, including day shifts and waking night shifts.
The Role
You will:
*As a Support Worker, you’ll be: Building positive, trusting relationships
*Supporting people with daily living and personal goals
*Encouraging independence and choice
*Supporting individuals to access activities they enjoy
*Working in line with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
*Supporting with health needs and medication (full training provided)
This is a role where you really get to know the people you support and see the difference you make every day.
Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
*Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
*Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
*Support activities, appointments, and community access
*Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
*Work on a rota
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
Requirements
*Ability to work waking nights
*Experience of supporting adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs
*Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
*Good communication and written skills
*Ability to keep calm under pressure
*Confidence to work alone and also be part of a team (family)
*Experience with autism, epilepsy or challenging behaviour is great, but not essential — attitude matters more than experience
