Job Description:
Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN & Mainstream Schools Across Bournemouth & Surrounding Areas Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a variety of specialist SEN schools as well as mainstream primary and secondary settings across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset region. These schools support children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism, ADHD, social-emotional needs and a wide range of learning profiles. Many of our partner schools are known for their therapeutic approaches, strong multi-disciplinary teams and highly personalised support for pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a graduate seeking hands-on experience in education, inclusion and child development, while making a meaningful difference to pupils’ lives.
Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time)
Pay: From a minimum of £14.96 per hour
About the Role * Support staff in delivering evidence-based interventions that promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour

* Assist with behaviour tracking, data collection and progress monitoring

* Work alongside teachers, therapists and SEN teams to support learning and wellbeing

* Provide small-group or 1:1 support tailored to pupils’ individual needs

* Help develop strategies that improve engagement, motivation and social-emotional development

* Opportunities available across both specialist SEN provisions and inclusive mainstream classrooms

What We’re Looking For * A degree in any subject (recent graduates welcome)

* Interest in education, child development or supporting young people with additional needs

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

* Patience, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to supporting pupils

* Previous SEN experience-particularly with Autism or behavioural needs-is beneficial but not essential

Eligibility Requirements * Right to Work in the UK

* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

* References covering the last 24 months
