Manufacturing Engineer - Lean / Six Sigma / PLC Location: [Bacup]
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday | 8:30am-1:30pm Friday (Days)
Holidays: 33 days including Bank Holidays
?? The Opportunity Due to continued business expansion, we are seeking a talented and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing plastics-based manufacturing business. Reporting directly to the Technical Director (with exposure to the Manufacturing Director), you will play a key role in driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and manufacturing performance.
?? Key Responsibilities * Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives
* Apply Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred) methodologies
* Drive Kaizen and Continuous Improvement activities
* Support PLC programming and process optimisation
* Deliver OPEX improvements using tools such as:
* 5S
* Value Stream Mapping
* Root Cause Analysis
* Continuous Improvement frameworks
* Support new product introduction (NPI) and product launches
* Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost performance
�? Experience & Qualifications * Engineering degree or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
* 3-5 years’ experience within a regulated industry
* Background in plastics manufacturing
* Experience within medical devices highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence tools
* Six Sigma Green or Black Belt advantageous
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
