Job Vacancy: Legal Operations Manager
Location: 741 High Road, London N12 0BP
Salary: £55k - £70k + bonus OTE £100k
Reports to: Director
Role Overview
As our Legal Operations Manager, you will be the strategic engine behind our legal delivery. Your mission is to bridge the gap between legal expertise and business excellence, ensuring our lawyers have the optimal processes, data insights, and technology to provide world-class service. In 2026, this role is critical in steering our firm through AI-driven transformation and maintaining our competitive edge in the UK market.
Core Responsibilities
* Financial Management & Pricing: Lead the design and implementation of Alternative Fee Arrangements (AFAs). You will be responsible for monitoring "Work in Progress" (WIP) and "Lock-up," working directly with Partners to drive departmental profitability.
* LawTech & AI Governance: Oversee the firm’s 2026 technology roadmap. You will evaluate, implement, and audit AI-enhanced tools (e.g., automated document review, generative AI assistants) ensuring they meet strict security and ethical standards.
* Process Engineering: Use Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to map and refine legal workflows. You will focus on high-impact areas such as automated client inception, AML/KYC compliance, and matter lifecycle management.
* Data Analytics: Develop and manage PowerBI or Tableau dashboards to provide real-time visibility into KPIs, team capacity, and client spend.
* Vendor Management: Manage the firm’s relationships with external technology providers and third-party vendors, negotiating UK-specific service level agreements (SLAs) and managing renewals.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience: Significant experience in a legal or professional services environment (Law Firm, "Big Four," or In-House Legal Dept).
* Qualifications: Prince2, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
* Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of the UK legal tech stack (e.g., iManage, HighQ, Elite 3E, or Peppermint).
* Strategic Mindset: A "Change Agent" capable of influencing senior stakeholders and navigating the cultural shifts required for digital transformation.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Firm understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations and UK GDPR compliance.
Key Skills
* Project Management: Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
* Communication: Ability to translate complex technical or financial data into actionable insights for legal professionals.
* Problem Solving: A proactive approach to identifying bottlenecks in legal delivery and proposing scalable solutions.
