About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of our charity and ensure we remain compliant, sustainable, and financially resilient. This is a key part-time FTC role supporting the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees with accurate financial insight that drives effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage day-to-day finance operations including AP/AR, payroll, banking, and cashflow.
*Maintain accurate financial records aligned with UK charity law and SORP.
*Prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and variance reports.
*Lead annual budget preparation and support managers with ongoing monitoring.
*Track restricted and unrestricted funding streams with correct cost allocation.
*Produce reports for funders and support funding bids with detailed costings.
*Ensure full compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and Charity Commission.
*Oversee the year-end audit process and maintain strong financial controls.
*Supervise the Finance Officer and ensure systems (Xero/Sage) are up to date.
*Provide financial guidance to non-finance managers.
About You
*Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT) or equivalent experience.
*Strong charity finance background, including SORP and multiple funding streams.
*Proven experience in management accounts, budgeting, and reporting.
*Proficiency with Xero/Sage and strong Excel skills.
*Clear communicator able to explain finance to non-finance staff.
*High integrity, detail-focused, and proactive in problem-solving.
