Reed Accountancy are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Assistant Management Accountant to join a respected and long-established commercial business in Darlington. This role is perfect for someone with a strong accounting background who is looking to further develop their skills in a dynamic and growing company.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
*Maintain accurate financial records including ledgers, and process purchase and sales ledger transactions.
*Conduct bank reconciliations, supplier statement reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
*Support month-end financial tasks such as accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
*Assist with VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
*Produce financial reports for internal teams and management to support commercial decision-making.
*Manage invoicing, credit control, and payment processing activities.
*Monitor costs and contribute to financial forecasting and budgeting.
*Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve financial queries.
*Support the Finance Manager during audits and in the year-end financial processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in a similar Assistant Management Accountant role within industries such as manufacturing, engineering, automotive, logistics, or distribution.
*Strong commercial acumen with a good understanding of pricing, margin analysis, cost control, and ROI.
*Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software.
*Excellent numerical accuracy and high attention to detail.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
