Job Description:
A small but ambitious charity is seeking a Part-Time Management Accountant to provide maternity cover and support the smooth running of the finance function during a key period. This is fully remote, three days per week.
Working as part of a centralised finance team, this role will play an important part in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting reporting and contributing to ongoing process improvements as the organisation continues to modernise its finance operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Supporting the production of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, deferred income and adjustments.
*Managing accounting for corporate card programmes.
*Maintaining fixed asset registers and processing depreciation.
*Supporting budgeting and preparing quarterly forecasts.
*Assisting with the annual audit process, including preparation of schedules.
*Preparing VAT returns.
*Producing financial information packs for trustees, including running trial balances and undertaking initial variance analysis.
*Contributing to ongoing process improvements and finance system developments.
The successful candidate will:
*Have solid experience working in charity finance, with a strong understanding of fund accounting and restricted funding.
*Be confident preparing journals and supporting month end processes.
*Ideally have experience with modern cloud accounting systems.
*Be comfortable working in a small organisation environment with a collaborative and flexible approach.
*Be part-qualified or qualified by experience.
