Administrative Assistant / Secretary – Accountancy PracticeLocation: Basildon
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Our client is a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Basildon. They are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Administrative Assistant / Secretary to support Directors and the wider accounting team.
This is a varied and responsible role, ideally suited to someone with previous experience in an accountancy practice or professional services environment who understands the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and statutory compliance.
The RoleAdministrative & Office Support
*Provide day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to Directors and accounting staff
*Manage diaries, schedule meetings and coordinate appointments
*Prepare correspondence, reports, engagement letters and client communications
*Maintain organised electronic filing systems
*Handle incoming calls, emails and client enquiries professionally
*Process incoming post
*Arrange digital document signing via e-signature platforms
Accountancy & Compliance Support
*Assist with client onboarding documentation and AML/KYC compliance checks
*Liaise with clients to obtain financial records and supporting documentation
*Maintain accurate client records within practice management systems
Company Secretarial Duties
*Assist with company formations and statutory registrations
*Prepare and file confirmation statements, annual returns and other statutory documents
*Maintain statutory registers including directors, members and PSCs
About You*Previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role
*Experience within an accountancy practice or professional services environment
*Working knowledge of company secretarial procedures
*Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
*Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
