I’m currently partnering with a highly respected, award-nominated accountancy practice that is expanding its Audit team in Milton Keynes. This firm offers excellent exposure, genuine progression pathways, and a culture that truly supports its people. We’re looking for an Audit Senior or Assistant Manager who is ready to step into a role with real responsibility and long-term potential.
The Opportunity
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys a mix of audit and accounts work (approximately 80% audit / 20% accounts) and wants to join a supportive team where quality, collaboration, and development are at the forefront.
You’ll be reporting to Audit Managers while overseeing and mentoring junior staff—an excellent step up for those wanting to grow their supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and deliver audits for clients with turnovers up to £250m, including specialist sectors such as charities, solicitors, pensions, schools, and regulated industries.
*Complete audit work to deadlines and within budget, working with minimal supervision.
*Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
*Prepare draft corporation tax computations, statutory accounts, and consolidated accounts under FRS102.
*Produce audit findings and recommendations for management.
*Complete group reporting responsibilities where acting as a component auditor.
*Undertake larger accounts preparation work for audit-exempt entities.
Tools & Technology
Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:
Proaudit, CCH Accounts Production, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Alphatax, and Microsoft Office.
A laptop will be provided.
What We’re Looking For
*ACA/ACCA Qualified or Finalist level.
*Minimum 2.5 years’ experience in a UK practice environment, with consistent audit exposure.
*Strong technical skills with the ability to take ownership of audit files.
*Confident communicator who can work effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
*Someone who thrives in a mixed role involving both complex audits and less straightforward accounts assignments.
*Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and competing priorities.
The Firm’s Culture & Values
The practice prides itself on being a people-focused, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment. They are looking for individuals who reflect their core values:
*Together – Supportive, humble, positive, and team-driven.
*Resilient – Open-minded, adaptable, and solutions-orientated.
*Understanding – Respectful, empathetic, and grounded in integrity.
*Supportive – Encouraging, kind, and committed to others’ growth.
*Thrive! – Motivated to deliver exceptional work and embrace continuous improvement.
Why This Role Stands Out
*Join an award-nominated, reputable firm with a strong Audit heritage.
*Work in a culture that prioritises development, wellbeing, and balance.
*Gain experience across a broad and varied client base.
*Clear pathways to progress towards Assistant Manager, Manager, and beyond.
