Service Dispatcher Scheduler

About the Position We are seeking a confident and organisedDispatcher Scheduler to support the coordination of field engineers and ensure customer requests are handled efficiently. The role requires someone experienced in planning or scheduling who can manage a varied workload, communicate clearly, and keep operations running smoothly in a busy environment. You will work closely with engineers, customers, and managers, becoming a key point of contact in the daily running of the service function.
The Role: *Answer and manage incoming and outgoing calls, recording information accurately
*Maintain regular communication with customers, keeping them updated on progress
*Schedule and assign engineers for routine maintenance and urgent callouts
*Monitor live jobs, track delays, and escalate issues when necessary
*Manage engineer availability and coordinate absences alongside line managers
*Review and process engineer timesheets, including overtime and productivity
*Check job charges, resolve billing errors, and maintain accurate records
*Contribute to team meetings and provide updates on workload and resource needs
*Support performance monitoring and flag any concerns to management
What skills do we need? *Practical experience in planning, scheduling, or dispatching (preferably involving engineers or drivers)
*Ability to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities
*Clear and confident communication skills
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and email systems
*SAP or similar system experience is helpful but not essential
*Background in a service-driven industry (logistics, transport, engineering, MHE, etc.) is an advantage
*Someone who takes initiative, works well within a team, and enjoys problem-solving
