Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour, particularly in residential childcare or similar settings?
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional behavioural needs in an inclusive and nurturing school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, patient, and able to build trusting relationships with children who may find the school environment challenging.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1:1 support for a specific pupil throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.
*Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to implement behaviour support strategies.
*Encourage positive choices and emotional regulation through a trauma-informed approach.
*Assist with learning activities, emotional support, and the development of social skills.
*Ensure the safety and well-being of the child at all times.
About You:
*Experience in residential childcare, youth work, or supporting individuals with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
*A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*A genuine desire to support children to thrive both academically and emotionally.
