Are you an experienced EMEA Payroller with strong Austrian payroll expertise available to start immediately?
My client is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join their European payroll function on a 4-month fixed-term contract, supporting payroll activities across Austria, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.
You’ll need 5 to 8 years of payroll experience across multiple EMEA countries and it’s a requirement to have Austrian payroll experience. You will need a strong knowledge of EMEA payroll laws, tax rules, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements so that you can transition the system to Workday for Austria payroll.
This role is open to candidates based in UK, Austria, Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, location is flexible, if you bring deep expertise in Austrian payroll law and compliance, which is essential for this position.
You’ll be delivering accurate end-to-end payroll across multiple European countries, ensuring compliance with regional tax laws, labour regulations, and internal controls.
You will be responsible for:
*Managing end-to-end Austrian monthly payroll (must-have)
*Supporting payrolls across the UK, Netherlands, and Germany with a total of 300 employees across all these 4 countries you will cover
*Ensuring compliance with all local payroll legislation, tax rules, social insurance, and statutory reporting
*Preparing and validating data for payroll processing across EMEA
*Working closely with external payroll providers (CloudPay experience would be great)
*Supporting the transition of Austrian payroll into Workday (other HRIS eg. UKG would be preferable)
*Assisting with complex queries, reconciliations, extra hours regulations, and compliance nuances specific to Austria
*Collaborating with Finance and HR teams to ensure accurate accounting and cross-functional alignment
