Payroll Administrator

Warrington Council are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator. This role is crucial in supporting payroll operations across the Council, especially during the implementation of a new SAP payroll system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management and be adept at problem-solving and collaborating with colleagues to ensure high-quality payroll delivery.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Process payroll information from end to end to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
*Handle both internal and external customer inquiries and issues related to payroll.
*Administer pensions and communicate necessary information to providers.
*Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
*Issue contracts of employment and maintain personal files.
*Resolve payroll queries efficiently and effectively.
*Support and deliver employee transactional processes and contribute to the development and improvement of these processes.
*Build and maintain successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including HMRC and pension funds.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in a payroll environment, particularly with transactional processes.
*Strong knowledge of PAYE/HMRC regulations and pension scheme administration.
*Experience with SAP payroll systems is highly desirable.
*Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
*Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet deadlines and manage workload.
*Proficient in IT software, including word processing and spreadsheets.
*Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information.
