Fixed term contract vacancy – Accounts Manager
*Location: Cambridge CB2 (Hybrid)
*Duration Type: FTC until 30th September 2026
*Salary: £33,951 – £39,906 per annum
Working within a busy finance team, you will provide comprehensive accounts management from daily financial queries through to supporting month-end and year-end activities. You’ll manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, support senior stakeholders with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure financial compliance across a broad range of funded projects.
The position also includes line management of 2–3 team members and deputising for the Finance Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities:
*Managing general ledger processes and resolving financial queries
*Supporting month-end, year-end, forecasting and budget reviews
*Liaising with senior staff and project leads regarding expenditure and forecasts
*Applying funder terms and financial regulations to budgets and spend
*Supporting costing and administration of research grant applications
*Assisting with debt collection and financial reporting
*Leading, developing and allocating work to a small finance team
*Identifying and implementing process improvements
About You:
*Degree-level education or AAT Level 4 (or equivalent)
*Experience in a busy accounts or finance environment
*Strong Excel and financial systems skills
