Job Description:
Investigator
*Daily Rate: £200.00 - £300.00 (Umbrella rate, inside IR35)
*Location: London, Cardiff, or Salford
*Job Type: Contract (4 weeks initially, with potential for extension)
*Hybrid: 1 day per week in the office, potentially fully remote after the first week
*Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
*Interview: Single stage via Microsoft Teams
We are currently seeking an Investigator for a prominent media company to cover a sickness absence. This role involves handling sensitive investigations into serious misconduct allegations received through the company’s whistleblowing mechanisms.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead investigations of allegations of serious misconduct in accordance with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
*Provide guidance, training, and information, manage data, and execute process delivery, often of a specialist nature.
*Advise the workforce based on information received and knowledge of policy and process; understand issues and problems and manage them accordingly.
*Work in partnership with wider specialist teams to manage and deliver more complex specialist projects and deliverables.
*Represent the team at meetings, providing mentoring and taking the lead on specific issues/topics/projects or incidents as required.
*Encourage continuous improvement to specialism by engaging with and coaching employees and junior roles within the SSR team.
*Keep abreast of legal updates and undertake CPD activities to maintain knowledge required for the role or professional membership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, guidance, and operating procedures within SSR.
*Proven experience in the management of specialism within a diverse organisation.
*Strong knowledge in the specialist subject/discipline to advise on specialist subject, risk management, and legislation.
*Ability to analyse or/and investigate and contextualise complex issues, identify key points to be addressed, and develop effective, practical, and simple plans to resolve problems.
*Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to present clear and concise professional communications to a range of audiences.
*Skilled and experienced investigator, with a strong grasp of criminal and civil investigation methodology and best practice standards in an international/multi-jurisdictional context.
*Experienced in handling sensitive investigations and communications in diverse, multi-cultural, and international working contexts.
