Job role: HR Advisor
Location: Colchester
Salary: £40,000-£45,000
Hours: Full time, office based
We are recruiting an HR Advisor to provide expert, practical ER support to managers and leaders within a fast-paced, regulated environment. This is a hands-on role managing complex ER casework while supporting best practice people management.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide timely ER advice to managers via phone, written and in-person support
*Manage a high volume of complex ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, capability, whistleblowing, redundancy, TUPE and change management
*Coach and support managers, balancing commercial needs with employment law best practice
*Review and quality-check investigation reports, letters and ER documentation
*Support ACAS early conciliation and Employment Tribunal cases
*Maintain accurate ER case records and reporting
*Identify ER trends and contribute to policy, process and template improvements
*Support ER training delivery and ad-hoc projects
About You
*Minimum 2 years’ employee relations casework experience
*Strong working knowledge of current UK employment law
*Experience managing complex, high-volume ER cases
*Confident communicator with strong influencing and coaching skills
*Well organised, detail-focused and able to work under pressure
*CIPD qualified or working towards (desirable)
*ACAS / Employment Tribunal experience (desirable)
