Behaviour Buddy Required for a Specialist School in Calderdale:
About the role:
This Behaviour Buddy role is based on a supportive and specialist school for children aged 5-19 in Calderdale. They are seeking educators to work with a wide range of needs, from children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs to more Sensory Behavioural Difficulties linked to Autism.
Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality mentors to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.
Your Role:
*Supporting on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
*Supporting students’ learning, engagement, and independence across a range of settings
*Providing appropriate support with personal care, emotional wellbeing, and social development
*Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
*Providing feedback to teachers and parents
*You will be supporting and working closely with pupils with complex SEMH, Autism, ADHD and Learning Difficulties
*Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals
*Offering consistent feedback and encouragement to help students recognise their successes
You will be someone who:
*Builds trust and rapport with children and young people through consistency and empathy
*Responds positively to challenge and understands the importance of emotional regulation
*Finds motivation in supporting young people with complex and individual needs
*Works collaboratively and values the contribution of colleagues and partner agencies
The ideal candidate:
*Outgoing and mentoring manner
*Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
*You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Special School, so being prepared is vital.
*Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils

*Willing to develop your knowledge of the national curriculum
