Your new role
*Quality Officer
*Sector: Higher Education
*Contract: Interim, full-time
*Start: ASAP
*Duration: 5 months
*Rate: £27.98-£32.34 per hour (premium PAYE, inside IR35)
*Working environment: Hybrid - 3 days / 60% on site
*Hours: 35 per week; core hours 10:00-16:00
*Location: London
*Closing date: 24th February
The opportunity
*Provide practical support to the university’s programme approval, amendment and review processes.
*Ensure curriculum information is accurate, compliant and recorded correctly across systems.
*Advise colleagues on programme structures, credit frameworks and regulations, maintaining curriculum information, and supporting committees with papers, minutes and follow-up actions.
Duties & responsibilities
*Delivery of programme approval, amendment and review processes, ensuring alignment with university regulations and sector quality expectations.
*Accurate setup, validation and maintenance of curriculum information - including modules, assessments and programme structures - within SITS and curriculum management platforms.
*Strengthening of curriculum information quality and workflows, supporting HESA/Student and Course returns and wider statutory reporting.
*High-quality committee servicing: preparing papers, drafting minutes, tracking actions/conditions, and coordinating with internal and external panel members.
*Advising Schools and academic leads on regulatory requirements, credit frameworks, policy interpretation and process timelines.
*Contributing to data improvement, system implementation or migration activities as the university enhances its curriculum management environment.
Skills & experience
Reporting & Analysis Skills
*Strong understanding of HE curriculum information requirements and and programme structures.
*Hands-on experience with SITS programme/module setup, including assessment structures (desirable).
*Understanding of HESA reporting, particularly how curriculum information feeds Student and Course returns.
*Experience working with Curriculum Management Systems.
Programme Governance & Quality Assurance
*Experience supporting programme approval, modification or review processes within Higher Education.
*Awareness of UK quality assurance frameworks and academic regulations.
*Ability to advise on credit frameworks, programme architecture and related policies.
Committee & Stakeholder Engagement
*Experience preparing committee papers, minute-taking and drafting clear, defensible reports.
*Confident engaging with senior academics, PS colleagues and external panel members.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Organisation & Work Management
*Ability to manage competing priorities during busy annual cycles.
*Exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to identify and resolve inconsistencies.
*Ability to exercise sound judgement within defined frameworks and work independently.
