Financial Services Assistant (Purchase Ledger)
Location: Andover
Contract Type:10 months (approx.)
Pay: £13.77 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Services Assistant (Purchase Ledger) to join our clients Finance & Revenues team.
In this varied position, you will provide essential accounting and administrative support to the Financial Services Business Unit. You’ll help ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while maintaining strong communication with suppliers, departments, and colleagues across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and credit notes, including checking, inputting, batching, and scanning.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date supplier records.
- Ensuring invoices are processed correctly in line with VAT and CIS requirements.
- Running BACS and cheque payment runs.
- Responding to purchase ledger and sales ledger queries from suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
- Providing support to the sales ledger function when needed.
- Undertaking ad hoc tasks to support the wider finance team.
About You
You’ll excel in this role if you’re organised, accurate, and enjoy being part of a busy and supportive finance team.
Essential Qualifications
GCSE Maths and English (Grades 4-9) or equivalent.
Essential Experience
Experience working in a busy office environment.
Experience within a sales ledger or purchase ledger function.
Strong team-working skills.
Desirable Experience
Familiarity with e-financial systems.
Skills & Personal Qualities.
Basic Excel skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A respectful, responsible, and collaborative approach to working with others.
