Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN School)
Location: Westminster
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (Term-time only)
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEN (Special Educational Needs) school in Westminster. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support that enables each pupil to reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Help create a positive and structured classroom environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents/carers
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Support pupils with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting preferred)
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) - desirable but not essential
