We are recruiting for a Team Leader to join a leading production environment in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to take ownership of team performance, drive operational excellence, and contribute to continuous improvement within a fast-paced setting.
The Role
You will lead production teams across rotating shifts, ensuring operational targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:
Essential:
*A relevant management or engineering qualification, or equivalent hands-on leadership experience.
*Proven experience leading teams within a manufacturing or production environment.
*Strong understanding of engineering and assembly methods.
*Sound knowledge of Health & Safety practices within an industrial setting.
*Experience applying Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
*Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
*A structured, empathetic leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Desirable:
*Additional Health & Safety or continuous improvement certifications.
*Experience supporting digital transformation or operational change initiatives.
Within this position, you’ll also be:
*Leading and motivating production teams to consistently achieve output, efficiency, and quality targets
*Monitoring performance, addressing variances, and proactively identifying operational risks
*Maintaining visual management and quality systems to ensure compliance with operational processes
*Driving a culture of continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and business improvement tools
*Analysing production challenges and implementing solutions to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence
*Supporting new product introduction activities and contributing to innovation initiatives
*Promoting a safe, compliant, and respectful working environment across the manufacturing floor
*Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless production and operational performance
