Job Description:
Brent Council, one of our largest public sector clients based in London are looking to recruit a dedicated and proactive Housing Resolution Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a key front-line role providing tailored housing options advice to households living in temporary accommodation and supporting them to move on to safe, suitable and sustainable long-term housing. If you are driven, compassionate and able to balance sensitivity with strong decision-making, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to help shape positive outcomes for residents in need.
Contract: 6-month, full time, Monday to Friday
Location: Wembley Park, Hybrid work
Pay rate: £21.41 per hour via PAYE or £27.73 per hour via Umbrella
About the Role

As a Housing Resolution Officer, you will work directly with households in temporary accommodation, offering clear, realistic and informed guidance on the full range of housing pathways available to them. You will develop strong professional relationships with residents, accommodation providers and partner services, ensuring that the support offered is consistent, lawful and focused on helping households achieve appropriate and timely move-on.
You will be responsible for undertaking suitability reviews, investigating fear of violence cases, supporting households affected by welfare reforms, and ensuring compliance with tenancy or licence conditions. Your work will contribute to effective use of temporary accommodation, the prevention of fraud, and the delivery of a high-quality, legally compliant service.
About You

This role suits someone who is solutions-focused, resilient and able to communicate clearly with a wide range of people. You’ll bring strong organisational skills, the ability to interpret legislation and policy, and a commitment to delivering a fair and supportive service. Experience in housing, homelessness, tenancy management or a related field is highly desirable.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must have previously worked as Housing Resolution Officer to be able to carry out the role from day one. If you have the required experience and skill set, then apply now for immediate consideration.
