A leading Top 30 firm is recruiting an experienced Personal Tax Manager for their Private Client Tax team in the City. This is a rare opportunity offering genuine 50/50 advisory and compliance work, plus the flexibility to work full-time or part-time.

THE PERSONAL TAX MANAGER ROLE
Manage a diverse portfolio handling everything from compliance through to complex advisory work. You’ll mentor juniors, work with Partners on high-value projects, and take genuine ownership of meaningful client relationships.
WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
Advisory Work (50%)
*Lead advisory on non-dom issues, CGT, IHT, trusts, and shareholder planning
*Provide technical tax planning and consultancy on complex matters
*Identify tax-saving opportunities within your portfolio
*Support Partners on high-value advisory projects
Compliance & Client Management (50%)
*Manage compliance for HNWIs, non-doms, trusts, partnerships, international clients
*Review personal tax returns prepared by junior team members
*Act as key client contact across phone, email, and face-to-face meetings
*Oversee billing, workflow, and portfolio administration
Team Development
*Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members
*Review and develop staff work
*Support the team’s professional growth
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
*Strong personal tax experience in both compliance and advisory
*Solid technical knowledge - non-dom, CGT, IHT, trusts, partnerships
*Client management skills - communicate complex issues clearly
*Experience reviewing junior work and supporting team development
*ATT or CTA qualified (strong QBE candidates considered)
*Independent worker - confident making decisions with minimal supervision
*CCH Personal Tax experience useful but not essential

You thrive on variety and you’re ready for the next step. You work confidently with minimal supervision, make decisions independently, and want to develop both technical expertise and leadership skills.
You enjoy the intellectual challenge of advisory work but also appreciate the structure of managing a compliance portfolio. You’re commercially minded, detail-oriented, and motivated by making a real impact for clients.
You might want to work part-time for work-life balance, or you’re ready for a full-time step up - either way, this firm is genuinely flexible for the right person.
