Overview
A Private Client practice is seeking a Tax and Trust Manager to lead trust administration, estate administration and UK tax compliance. The role combines hands-on technical delivery with supervision of one Tax and Trust Administrator.
Key responsibilitiesLeadership and Operations
*Supervise and support one Tax and Trust Administrator.
*Maintain accurate matter management and data integrity.
*Communicate clearly with clients, beneficiaries, trustees, advisers and referrers.
*Contribute to workflow improvements and team development.
Technical Delivery
*Prepare Personal and Trust tax returns, including SA900 submissions.
*Complete Inheritance Tax accounts, including IHT400 and relevant schedules.
*Maintain trust accounts and manage routine trust administration.
*Administer estates, including tax returns and cash accounts.
*Manage registrations and updates on HMRC’s Trust Registration Service.
*Draft trust documents such as resolutions, minutes and deeds.
*Support administration under Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection deputyships.
Risk, Compliance and Quality
*Uphold confidentiality, data protection and regulatory obligations, including AML and TRS requirements.
Client Service and Development
*Manage a portfolio of long-standing private clients, providing clear, practical advice.
*Support partners with trust and estate-related content or proposals.
Financial Accountability
*Manage billing and realisation for the portfolio and contribute to agreed targets.
Person specificationExperience
*Strong experience in UK trust and estate administration within a law or accountancy environment.
*Competence in SA900 returns, IHT400 accounts, TRS processes and basic POA/Deputyship matters.
