Accounts Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £30,000
Hours: Office-based
Benefits: AAT study support, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, private health insurance, death in service, on-site parking
Are you looking to take the next step in your finance career within a supportive and well-structured team? We’re recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a growing business in Sheffield, offering excellent exposure, development opportunities and study support.
This is a fantastic role for someone who is organised, detail-focused and keen to continue progressing within finance.
Key Responsibilities:
*Assist with day-to-day financial transactions and data entry
*Process purchase invoices and ensure accuracy
*Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts and balance sheet accounts
*Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
*Support month-end and year-end close processes, including fixed assets, prepayments and accruals
*Prepare and submit VAT returns (if applicable)
*Assist with weekly payroll and employee expense claims
*Respond to internal and external finance-related queries
*Manage petty cash and monitor office expenses
*Support audits and financial reporting as required
What We’re Looking For:
*Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or finance role
*Experience with Sage and Microsoft Office packages (essential)
*Strong numerical skills and a high level of attention to detail
*Excellent communication and organisational abilities
*Confident working with spreadsheets and finance systems
*A proactive approach and willingness to learn
