Finance Director

A growing, specialist contracting business is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to lead financial strategy, strengthen controls, and drive performance across a busy project-based operation. This is a key senior leadership role with real influence, autonomy, and visibility at both company and group level.
The Role *Lead the finance function and act as a core member of the senior leadership team.
*Own budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance reporting.
*Drive commercial insight, improve bid pricing and support project-level reporting.
*Maintain strong cash flow management, working capital discipline, and WIP accuracy.
*Oversee statutory accounts, audit, compliance, tax and financial governance.
*Develop finance systems, processes, and internal controls to support growth.
*Lead, support, and develop a small high-performing finance team.
About You *Experienced Finance Director or senior finance leader from contracting, construction, engineering or similar project-driven environments.
*Strong experience managing multi-project cash flow and job costing.
*Skilled in forecasting, financial modelling, and commercial analysis.
*Confident communicator able to influence across finance and operations.
*Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
