Company Overview
Our client is a leading plastics reprocessing business operating across the East of England. They specialise in recycling post-consumer and post-industrial UPVC materials, processing them into high-quality reusable plastic granules and powders for redistribution across the UK market. Their facility processes up to 150 tonnes of plastic per day, using advanced shredding, metal extraction, colour sorting and grinding equipment.
This is a fast-paced, industrial environment where you will be directly involved in the transformation of raw recycled plastics into ready-to-use material.
Role Title - Production / Process Operative
Location - Norwich
Start Date - May 2026
Key Responsibilities:
*Operating industrial shredding, sorting and grinding machinery as part of the plastics recycling line.
*Feeding materials into processing equipment and monitoring machines during operation.
*Assisting with metal extraction processes (ferrous and non-ferrous) and ensuring quality checks are carried out.
*Supporting colour sorting processes and ensuring correct separation of white and mixed plastics.
*Moving materials safely using a forklift truck.
*Conducting routine housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe working environment.
*Working as part of a production team to meet daily processing targets (up to 150 tonnes per day).
*Adhering to strict health and safety standards, including the compulsory use of respiratory PPE.
Essential Requirements
*Valid forklift licence – this is essential and required on day one.
*Previous experience in a production, recycling, warehouse or heavy industrial environment.
*Comfortable working in a dusty, noisy, large-scale factory setting with airborne debris (PPE provided).
*Physically fit and able to work on your feet for long periods.
*Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
*Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
*Experience operating industrial machinery.
*Background in waste management, recycling, manufacturing or materials processing.
*Understanding of basic mechanical processes.
Working Conditions
*Large, open, industrial processing facility.
*Ventilation through open access points; dust and airborne particles present.
*Full PPE including ventilation masks provided.
*Candidates will be invited for a pre-hire site visit to fully understand the environment.
Pay & Structure
*£14 per hour
*Standard hours with potential overtime depending on demand however expected earnings are over £35,000
